Healthy Aging with Eating Right

Healthy Aging through Eating Right in so very important for a better quality of life at any age but even more so as we get older. If we do not eat right, your body does not receive the nutrients vitamins and minerals it needs to stay healthy. We have to eat so it fuels your body and we are what we eat. Our bodies require foods that promote energy, helping us to have more vigor through out the day. Over eating is not good for any of us and not enough of the right food can be harmful to your health without some sort of supplements.

Choosing good foods to eat for healthy aging:
Not all foods are good for you, yet liver is loaded with iron which is good for your blood, but too much is not good for us either. Fruits and vegetables are good for you but again not too much because the fruit with out exercise will turn into sugar and that’s not good for you.

How will I know if am not eating right?
Doctors know best and the AMA or American Medical Association tell us Over two-thirds of U.S. adults are overweight or obese. Your doctor will be able to tell by your weight or run a BMI. Then he may put you on a diet to lose weight or a diet to help you loss or gain weight. He will tell people what to eat and how much as well as what not to eat. Then he may tell you to excise everyday. You have to be able to burn up what you take in so it will not turn into sugar or fat, calories in and calories out.

Remember that you should try to eat from the four food groups. Go with 5 to 7 smaller meals a day with complex carbs and lean proteins and we should not leave out excise that we need to make help make us healthier. You can always call your family doctor for tips and info or he could steer people in the right direction with healthy aging and eating right.

The online world is filled with support groups that will help us if we need added support.  Some of these groups will give the support during some tuff times that we may need help. At group meetings, you will meet people with the same issues we have and can give each other the support. Just remember to set a goal but don’t make it so high that we can not achieve it and then give up. Start out a little at a time and it will get better and easier as time goes on. We need to stick to it, it takes will power and control along with a little time.

Healthy Aging & Eating Right does take willpower:
Willpower is a powerful mechanism inside us. If you want to find this willpower take a seat, sit down and talk with yourself or team up with a partner to harness this wonderful power.  As you learn more about ourselves, we gain even more willpower that takes us beyond your abilities, which means we will have a healthy aging in the future.
